To whom it may concern,
I visit your store very seldom (once or twice in a year when I pass by it). My every week big shopping I am doing in Market Basket supermarket.
In the Stop and Shop I buy only one or two items.. Because of that I can see how the management of this store can cheat on their customers. From many years of my experience, I almost never pay the price near the register that is displayed on the counter near the item. This is not the cashiers fault because he or she just scanned the item.
Cheating comes from making the customers attracted by low or confusing prices on the item and then make him pay higher at the register. ( note:I always use the Stop and Shop card to low the price, so this is not a case of higher price near cashier)
The customers who buy a lot of items do not have time, desire, or possibility to check this fake or trick with the prices. But because I am buying only one or two items, I can see this very often.
I will never go to this store anymore and do not recommend anyone to shop there. When I complained about it in the store, instead of fixing the problem man who worked in the store accused me that I did not read very small letters at the corner of signboard that does not have any relation to this item.

Poor customer service
Today at approximately 3:15 PM. I went to cash out and noticed there were only two lines open for full-service checkout.
With a cart more then half full it is the most convenient for me. One cashier had a bagger and the elder senior cashier did not. As I approached I noticed the light on lane 12 was on but a closed sign was on the table.
This left the open lane without a bagger and at least 3 carts full to half full. The cashier on lane 12 was closed and doing some cleaning.
I asked to speak to the supervisor on duty. She told me there were two full service lanes open and when I explained that there was only one and the worker on lane 12 was just cleaning. Well, nothing was done so I left the store very disappointed. My experience with this store's staff has always been positive.
Just weeks before I stopped another manager and praised his staff.

Discrimination against elderly customers.
Last week, I believe Wednesday, I was at your Peabody store.
My brother in law (under our care) and I have both been hospitalized for kidney renal failure.
As such, we must consume large amounts of water to prevent a recurrence which could necessitate going on dialysis.
Neal is 84, Ill be 69 next month. Were also veterans.
So anywho, when purchasing water, I try to buy it on sale whenever possible.
In the past (going on 32 years)
I have been able to do this with ease with no problems whatsoever.
Nowadays with your digital coupons BS, this is not the case anymore. It seems that most elderly, not to mention non English speaking customers, more than likely have major problems.
In addition to the above, the young man I asked for assistance, did not appear to want to assist me at all.
The store was not busy at all.
Instead, he informed me that the stores policy was not to assist customers requesting aid dealing with this program.
I attempted to install this app but was unable to do so, was advised at the store it was to time consuming to help with this process.
Before Dianne retired, this never happened.
I sometimes dread the future when the next generation takes over.
Stop rewarding mediocre.

Filthy store, always out of stock items, poor service
Since I called customer service and instead reached this site that wants me to answer multiple questions before speaking with anyone. I will answer it with this simple response.
When is the last time that anyone from Stop and Shop inspected Stop & Shop, Lincoln Plaza, Worcester, MA? And if you have visited anytime recently, then you already know what my complaints are. If you have visited and do not know the issues, then you need to send another Inspector. I try to use this stor because it is closer to where I live.
I now use it when I do not have time to go anywhere else. After tonight, I will be switching most of my shopping to other grocery store chains. Market 32, Price Chopper, Sheas and the new Market Basket. If you want details, my cell is 704-562-****.
If you do not. then I understand that customers are not really important to Stop & Shop.

I hesitated to send this my friends urged me to because they said it was wrong. I agree with them.
Ive been a Stop & Shop customer for over 14 years. I shop at store number 819 on September 6, I was doing my weekly shopping. I went to the self check out, as I walked out the store, a man approached me and said I forgot to scan some thing. I had my receipt in hand, showed it to him.
He rifled through my bags and everything in my bags was on my receipt. I understand when their self check out you need security, but there has to be a better system put in place. the only option when you go into the store is self check out theres maybe one cashier open. You need a better system instead of accusing, loyal, longtime customers that did nothing wrong.
I will never shop at Stop & Shop again. I have been doing my weekly shopping at ShopRite now.

User's recommendation: Horrible customer service. Was a loyal customer for 14 years. Self check out was basically only option to use with only 1 cashier open. Last time was there for my weekly shopping used self check out. When I walked outman approached me and accused me of not scanning something. Handed him my receipt he rifled through my bags, everything was on my receipt. Get a better security system in place before accusing loyal customers of stealing

I haven't seen baggers in grocery stores for several years now. Had no idea that was still "a thing". The cashier bags and if you go to Europe, you the customer does the bagging.
